Following another purge of the database, we have removed hundreds of spam accounts. All these accounts were using black hat seo practices. Needless to say our war on spam is continuing.
As a result we have suspended the gmail, googlemail, email clients from being used during the registration process. We are also considering removing hotmail, yahoo and other free services aswell. We'll see how it goes over the next few weeks.

Link Spamming
- Published 10/24/2008
Over the last few days we have deleted over 200 author accounts. This has mainly been because these authors have been link spamming.
Link spamming is where authors post a link to a throw away domain that automatically re-directs to a specific product sales page. All these authors have been posting links that re-direct to one specific page. We are actively removing any author that links to that specific page, and will continue to do so.
We have set up a name and shame page, if you are interested here.
