Then say: "Hey, it was nice meeting you. I have to get back to my friends." Then turn to leave. But before you do, turn back around and ask quickly, "Do you have email?" Wait for her to yes, then hand her your pen and paper and tell her, "Okay, write it down here. I'd like to talk to you again."

Why an email instead of a phone number? First of all, most men ask for a phone number. Women hear it all the time. Because of this, they are often prepared to handle the situation by either giving you a fake number, or having a strategyin place to screen their calls and give you a brush off. All theory aside, I used to be a number fanatic. I had a goal that any time I went out, before I could go home I had to get at least 20 numbers. I got them using the approach above.

However, when I'd call them back, I would usually only get through and set up dates with 3-5 of them. And I was happy with that. But time constraints started pressing on me. It just took too long to call 20 women. But I could email them while I was at work. So I started asking for emails instead. And guess what? Not only was it easier to get her email address than phone number, but I went from getting 3-5 dates out of 20 women to 8-10. It simply was more effective.

So, if you aren't the master at creating an initial conversation that charms her into giving you her number, or if you are talking to a woman and you start to run out of things to say, simply end the conversation using the template I gave above. First give a reason to excuse yourself, then as an afterthought ask for her email. Now you are able to follow up later with a more specific plan.
