When you are depressed you feel totally weak, without any inclination to do anything.

 

How can you regain your power, life, and courage… how can you regain everything that you lost?

 

You must believe that you will feel better tomorrow and wait for the end of the day. The next day, wait for the afternoon and believe that you will feel better in the afternoon when it’s only morning and you have just woken up.

 

This is how you should start—limit your sadness. Tell yourself that you will feel better and try to believe that you will, even though it seems impossible.

 

If by afternoon, you feel worse because you were expecting to feel better but nothing helped you since the world doesn’t care for your depression and keeps making you feel worse, tell yourself that tomorrow you will surely feel better.

 

Never give up. Continue telling yourself that you will feel better the next day and this day will surely arrive.

 

If it is delayed, tell yourself that you have an important mission: you are learning how to live with a burden because you were chosen to be wiser than the others who live futile lives, constantly seeking pleasure, abhorring suffering of the poor and weak and thinking only about themselves. You were chosen to understand the meaning of suffering, so that you could discover true happiness. Not the false happiness based on material possessions and provisory successes, but the authentic happiness based on wisdom, sensitivity and balance.

 

If you are depressed, it means that you are sensitive; otherwise, you would be indifferent to everything.

 

Would you prefer to be someone who lives enjoying life in a hell full of wars, misery, crimes, prisons, immorality, hypocrisy and corruption?

 

I know you are sad because you have your own wounds and you are not thinking about the world. However, if you do think, you’ll understand why you need this lesson.

 

When you open your eyes and see how much the world needs salvation from despair, you’ll understand that you must be strong and resistant, because the world needs your work.

 

If you are not miserable, live in a place where there is some peace and have family, friends, a social position and a reasonably good life, think that you are lucky and that you must help the others who are in an inferior position.

 

This way, you will forget your own pain and when you manage to help someone, you’ll feel happy.

 

This will be the beginning of your new life.

 

Soon, you’ll completely forget your pain and weakness and feel that you are strong and wise. You’ll also have pity on those who live in indifference to human pain, who never learn anything in their lives or help anyone, since you will be sensible and sensitive, while they will continue to be cold and sick.

 

They are far from the truth and from the balanced attitude that you will acquire, thanks to your wisdom.

 

Your happiness will come your way. This is why you can really start believing that now is the first day of your happy life! This will be the first happy day of many days to come, which will be completely different from your present depressed and hopeless state.
